On June 17th 2017, the RSCDS Paris Branch hosts a music course followed by an evening dance with live music.
Music course
The music courses help the skilled instrumentalists to get trained for Scottish music played live at a ball. The teachers, who are all seasoned musicians, share their own experience and work with the trainees on the tunes included in the evening program. The sheet music is sent in advance, so everyone can arrive at the session having practiced the songs beforehand which will help to put an emphasis on interpretation, rhythm and ensemble work during the workshop. The standard formations usually involve a piano, a violin, an accordion and a flute but we will welcome any other kind of instruments with open arms!
Teacher : Christina Hood (fiddle)
Evening dance
The dance is open to intermediate and advanced dancers. Most dances will be briefly walked.
