Spring Fling/Fringe – April 19th to 21st 2019

From April 19th to 21st 2019, Paris will be the Scottish Country Dancing capital of the World for a weekend.

The RSCDS Paris Branch is happy to welcome the 2019 Spring Fling, the RSCDS international workshop aimed for dancers aged from 12 to 35.

Along with the Spring Fling, the RSCDS Paris Branch will organize a Spring Fringe, an international dance week-end for dancers over 35 with specific classes and joint evening dances.

Highland workshop and Cèilidh with live music – 22nd September 2018

On September 22nd 2018, the RSCDS Paris Branch hosts a Highland dance workshop and a cèilidh with live music.

Highland dances and Ladies’ Steps are solo dances that require technique and often stamina. Everyone is welcome to have a try!

Join us for an evening of dances, to the music of the Paris Band. Cèilidh dances are fun dances, often danced during social gatherings in Scotland, that everybody can enjoy. Dancers of all levels are welcome, including beginners.

Some Scottish country dances will also be danced during the evening so that you can discover Scottish Country Dancing and maybe join our Monday class.

Warning: You must have appropriate dance shoes or socks as we will dance in a gym.

On March 10th 2018, the RSCDS Paris Branch hosts a country dance with Highland steps workshop followed by an evening dance.

The workshop will focus on dances meddling SCD steps and formations with steps from solo dances known as “Highland dances” in Scotland. Highland steps require technique and often stamina. The workshop is open to dancers with no experience in Highland dancing but you need to have some experience in Scottish country dancing.

Country dancing workshop and Cèilidh with live music – 16th September 2017

On September 16th 2017, the RSCDS Paris Branch hosts a country dance workshop aimed at intermediate and advanced dancers and a cèilidh with live music.

Country dancing workshop: “Exploring Book 51”

The workshop is aimed at intermediate and advanced dancers. The dances that will be taught during the class will be mostly dances from Book 51, the latest book published by the RSCDS.

Cèilidh

Join us for an evening of dances, to the music of the Paris Band. Cèilidh dances are fun dances, often danced during social gatherings in Scotland, that everybody can enjoy. Dancers of all levels are welcome, including beginners.

Country dancing/Highland beginners workshop and evening dance – 22nd April 2017

On April 22nd 2017, the RSCDS Paris Branch hosts a dance workshop aimed at beginners followed by an evening dance with live music.

The workshop is aimed at dancers who started Scottish Country Dancing recently but more advanced dancers are also welcome. It will be divided into two courses:

  • Country Dancing (1pm – 2pm30) : Antoine Rousseau
  • Highland  (2pm45 – 4pm) : Mathias Ferber
